Mr. Tambourine Man Arrives in Queens Tickets on Sale March 19th
Nostalgia is definitely in the air in Queens; first it was all about Paul Simon and now, Bob Dylan returns to the Forest Hills Stadium.
In February, we announced the arrival of Paul Simon to the Forest Hills Stadium stage on June 30th. Sure many of you thought we were a bit daft to be posting about an event that wasn’t taking place until four months later. And, as expected, the immediate demand for tickets was so overwhelming, an additional performance had to be added for the following day.
Once again, we’re posting about another ‘great’ from that era, Bob Dylan, who is returning to the Forest Hills Stadium where he last performed back in 1965. On Friday, July 8th, he’ll be ‘bringing it all back home’ with his band, anchored by long-time bassist Tony Garnier, multi-instrumentalist Donnie Herron, and guitarist Charlie Sexton and rhythm and blues and gospel singer, Mavis Staples.
As was the popular theme of the 1960s, Dylan’s music defied existing pop music conventions and appealed to the burgeoning counterculture. Claiming to be a spokesman for his generation, his lyrics incorporated various political, social, philosophical, and literary influences. Early songs such as “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “The Times They Are a-Changin'” became anthems for the American civil rights and anti-war movements.
If you want to relive the celebrated work of Bob Dylan – don’t wait! Tickets for “On Tour” go on sale Saturday, March 19th at 10am at ForestHillsStadium.com. With every pair of tickets purchased, you will receive a redemption code to receive a Compact Disk of Bob Dylan’s latest album “Fallen Angels,” which debuts May 20th.
